World Peace?

Some forty years ago we said that the horses of internationalism were then being saddled by men led in rebellion against God and His Holy Word by Satan. Their combined goal was and is a world church and a world government.

Today they are marching across the face of the earth in open rebellion in the field of labor, finance, communication, health and welfare, transportation, energy, etc. Today the world of unbelieving mankind is in search of a superman to lead it into peace. However, the born-again Christian believer is waiting and looking for the Supernatural Son of God, his Redeemer, who alone has the power to bring peace for He is the Prince of Peace and only He can bring peace to this world. “For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;” (Ephesians “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John14:27).

By way of introducing this tract, let me say that even in fundamental Bible believing circles, there is a great deal of misunderstanding and confusion concerning the times in which we are now living, and more particularly the order of events immediately following the rapture or snatching away of born-again believers. “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words” (I Thessalonians 4:13-18).

Even a casual search of God’s Holy Word soon reveals that Satan has a counterfeit for everything in God’s Word that pertains to the Trinity of the Godhead, as well as all His attributes and His righteousness. “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God” (II Thessalonians 2:1-4). How few people, even born-again believers, realize fully that only a sovereign God is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, etc. Therefore, we find the unholy trio of Satan, the antichrist and the false prophet brought to our attention in the Word of God! The mystery of godliness and the mystery of iniquity exist side by side. Likewise, in these closing days Satan has brought into being a false pentecost, an imitation of the Pentecost of God foretold in the Old Testament, and fulfilled in the book of Acts and in other portions of the New Testament. It was prophesied in Joel 2:28-32. It was fulfilled in Acts 2:1-21.

There is an orderly, scriptural and prophetic fulfillment in the Word of God as to what will take place almost immediately after Christ returns for His own in the AIR (I Thessalonians 4:13-18).

The next great event in the history of the human race is the return of the Savior. However, His coming again in the air for born-again believers should never be confused with His later coming to the earth. Read Matthew 25:31-46.

Therefore, permit me to suggest the following order of events as they shall occur in heaven and on the earth and as they fit into God’s Word. This takes place during the period of time referred to by the Holy Spirit as the 70th week of Daniel, or the week of tribulation, which as of now seems to be more imminent than at any other time. Notice II Timothy 2:15, Acts 17:11, Deuteronomy 29:29.

What an overwhelming, breath-taking thought; there are only seven short years from the time of the rapture to the beginning of the millennium! Except for the final last war of rebellion recorded in the 20th chapter of the book of Revelation, all the following events will take place within a seven year period.

1. Christ will return in the air (Acts 1:10-11).

2. Born-again believers are at that moment caught away (I Thessalonians 4:13-18).

3. The saved are judged in heaven (II Corinthians 5:10).

4. The anti-christ is revealed on earth (II Thessalonians 2:3).

5. The anti-christ makes a peace covenant with Israel (Daniel 9:27).

We must digress at this point as we pursue these events in the Word of God. Contrary to all of her claims at the present time, Israel will not remain in possession or control of Jerusalem before the final consummation, but will be forced to flee for their lives (Matthew 24:15-18).

There will be three more great world wars and they will involve and affect all mankind. All three of these wars will take place after the rapture of the saints. The first war is portrayed in Ezekiel 38 and 39. Israel will be attacked by a nation or nations from the north, which will invade Palestine. This will take place sometime in the first three and one half years of the tribulation period (Daniel 9:27). GOD HIMSELF will bring Gog forth according to Ezekiel 39:1-2. The second war will take place when Christ returns to the earth, before the millennium (Matthew 25:31-46). This will be the battle of Armageddon. To understand this please study Daniel 11:36-45, Zechariah 14:1-4, Revelation 16:13-16; 19:11-16. The third and final war will take place AFTER THE MILLENNIUM (Revelation 20:7-10). Here, not only Gog and Magog will be involved as in the second war, but all the unconverted of the earth will be involved, ALL rebellious mankind. This is Satan’s final rebellion. It is then that he brings Gog forth in Revelation 20. It is then that they are finally destroyed and cast into the lake of eternal fire.

We now resume our study of the order of events for Daniel’s week. These weeks are weeks of years. The seventieth week is the seven year tribulation period. The anti-christ will break his covenant with Israel during the first three and one half years of Daniel’s week, (the tribulation period). Read Ezekiel 38-39, John 8:44, Matthew 24:15-16, II Thessalonians 2:3-12. These armies will all come against Israel to beat them into subjection to the one world religious and political system. GOD HIMSELF will destroy these armies, this amounts to one third of the earth’s population. Read Ezekiel 39:21-22. See also the “I wills” in Ezekiel 38:8-23.

GOD ALWAYS speaks with absolute finality. When He purposes to judge or destroy, He does so. The power of this one world system will be staggering and their intent to rule the world is with great determination, but they are no competition for the One who sitteth in the heavens. His purpose will be fulfilled.

MEANWHILE IN HEAVEN the marriage of the Lamb will be taking place (Revelation 19:7-10).

THE SECOND great battle, will be Armageddon. To understand this read Daniel 11:36-45, Revelation 16:13-16, Matthew 24:21-30, Luke 21:25-28, Zechariah 14:1-3. This is the great battle of all time. The consummation of this battle will be the end of gentile world rule and the doom of the beast and false prophet in the lake of fire (Revelation 19:20).

It is at this time that the millennial kingdom will be set up upon the earth. Read Zechariah 14:4-9 and Revelation 20:1-6.

During the millennium Satan is in the bottomless pit, NOT the lake of fire (Revelation 20:1-3). Satan is loosed (after 1,000 years – Revelation 20:7) for a little season, during which time he makes his final try to muster man in rebellion against God.

Following this is the FINAL BATTLE OF REBELLION with Satan leading Gog (Revelation 20:8-9).

Satan will be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10). It is then that the great white throne judgment takes place (Revelation 20:11-15). This judgment is only of the lost.

Following this is the final consummation of the ages (Revelation 21-22) HALLELUJAH!!!

CHRISTIAN, as you take the time to search the Scriptures to see whether these things be so or not as did the Bereans (Acts 17:11-12), may God’s Word and the blessed hope of His sure return become more precious to you than ever before.

UNSAVED ONE, may these truths be impressed on your mind and heart. I beg you not to delay your confession of need, your repentance toward God and your faith toward Jesus Christ. Turn to God the Father, and to Christ Jesus as your Savior before these terrible things foretold in God’s Word come upon the human race. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:16-18). “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” (John 17:3). “Verily, verily, I was unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24). “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost” (Titus 3:5).
